Bethany Houghton
Bethany Houghton is a local strings teacher and luthier. She started playing cello at four years of age, and very quickly music became her passion.
After getting into violin making and repair in her teens, she then added playing the violin and viola to her skills in her early 20’s. Fiddling, improv and and Folk styles came quickly after that.
She has been playing with the local Highlands Chamber Orchestra since its inception, and has a band ‘Trained By Chickadees’ with her husband Ernie Demuth. They are in the process of putting together an album of new original material.
